Sophomore boys defeat Nampa

A 16-0 run in the second quarter helped the Mountain Home sophomore Tigers down Nampa 53-42 Friday night at Nampa.

The lead went back and forth in the first quarter, with Mountain Home up by one, 9-8, after a quarter. With the Tigers up 13-12 early in the second period, Mountain Home went on a 16-0 run to build up a 29-12 lead. It was 29-13 Mountain Home at the half.

Mountain Home led 40-26 after three, and built up a 21-point lead in the fourth, with Nampa battling back to make it a 53-42 final.

"That run in the second quarter was huge for us," said Tiger sophomore boys basketball coach Matt Bundy.

Christian Halbach-Patterson led the Tigers with 15 points, Trevor Woodruff and Alex Kellogg both added 11. Brock Morris put in nine points, David Bitrick, four, and Jordan Warila had three.

The sophomore Tigers improved to 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in conference.
