Sophomore girls beat Skyview

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers sophomores won their eighth straight ball game Thursday night when they held off Skyview 36-28 in girls conference basketball in Lloyd Schiller Gymansium in Mountain Home.

Mountain Home trailed 6-5 after a quarter, but a half-court trap helped them hold Skyview scoreless in the second quarter as they went up 14-6 at halftime. After Skyview got within five, at 16-11, early in the third period, the Lady Tigers went on a 9-0 run to increase their lead to 25-11. It was 25-14 Mountain Home heading into the fourth quarter.

Mountain Home stretched its lead to 34-18 before Lady Tiger sophomore coach Stevn Tesar went to his bench. Skyview battled back to within six, 34-28, but Mountain Home prevailed, 36-28,for the team's eighth straight win.

Amanda Osborn and Rachel Warila led Mountain Home with 10 points each, Arlene Futch added seven, Alex Schmidt, six, Erika Hyde, 2, and Fatima Guillen, one.
