MHHS wrestling squad scores seven dual wins during the week

The Mountain Home Tigers wrestling team picked up seven dual wins last week, starting with a conference dual win at Bishop Kelly.

The Mountain Home Tigers completely dominated their conference dual opener at Bishop Kelly last Wednesday night.

The Tigers picked up nine pins, and four forfeits in the lopsided wrestling match against the Knights.

Winning by pins for the Tigers at Bishop Kelly were TJ Billinger (125 pounds), Kaeo Doronio (130), Ty Kleffner (135), Nico Pinque (140), Cal Vivier (145), Kamron Spaulding (152), Tanner Carpenter (160), Matt Ward (189), and Colby Lord (215).

Chris Knudson won a 5-4 decision at 171 pounds.

Winning by forfeit were John Crisman (112), Zach Pomerantz (119), and James Bailey (285).

Both teams forfeited at 103 pounds.

The Tigers then went to Idaho Falls where they won six of eight duals during the Bonneville Duals over the weekend.

Idaho Falls and Pocatello both went 8-0 in the tournament.

Mountain Home, Challis and American Falls went 6-2, Bonneville, Hillcrest and Post Falls went 5-3, Skyline and Rigby went 4-4, Madison and Vallivue both went 3-5, Preston went 1-7, and Snake River, Sugar-Salem and Bishop Kelly all went 0-8.

Kaeo Doronio and Chris Knudson both were undefeated at the Bonneville Duals, Nico Pinque and Cal Vivier went 7-1, Matt Ward was 6-1, Kamron Spaulding 6-2, Colby Lord, 5-2, Ty Kleffner and John Deal both 4-1, Tanner Carpenter, 4-3, and James Bailey, 2-4.

The Tigers go to Weiser Thursday for a tri-match with the host Wolverines and Wood River.
