Make sure you have emergency information on you

Wednesday, December 5, 2007

Dear editor:

Here is a safety suggestion that I hope people take -- tape an emergency contact number to the back of your driver's license or ID card, and paper clip the same information on your car registration.

On of my friends was going to a Boise Master Chorale concert last Friday night, and was hit and killed by a car while crossing the street. It took the authorities hours to notify her children, because there were no contact numbers in her purse.

Heaven forbid that anything like this would happen to any of us, but if it did, a contact number on the back of our ID would immensely help the authorities contact our loved ones.

Also, carry your ID with you when you go jogging, bicycle riding, or walking. Be safe.
