Letter to the Editor

Our individual words and actions make or break out commitment to community

Wednesday, December 5, 2007

Dear editor:

What a great editorial from Mr. Larry Heinen in last week's paper (Law Enforcement Challenged). The title of his message is not important, his message is.

Mountain Home is a great city because people like Mr. Heinen state an issue clearly, without attempting to degrade anyone, while looking out for the good of all in the community. Too many times editorials have an agenda easily seen through or meant to provoke even more discussion that gets more negative reaction.

I would extend Mr. Heinen's message well beyond law enforcement, because I, too, believe law enforcement does a job that we do not appreciate enough. Every person, be it a teacher to a student, a corporate supervisor to a subordinate, a customer to a cashier, we can all learn a lesson from reading Mr. Heinen's message to better understand that every member of our community is important.

Our individual words and actions make or break our contribution to the community.

Mr. Heinen, thanks for re-motivating me to be a more positive person and community contributor in all my daily activities and relationships.

Allen Niksich,

MHAFB
