Soph girls open with Timberline win

The Mountain Home Lady Tiger sophomores opened their basketball season with a 45-34 win over the Timberline sophomores last Friday night in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium.

Mountain Home led, 10-9, after a quarter, and stretched their lead to 20-12, at the half. They led, 30-19, after three, and ended the game on top, 45-34.

"It was a good way to start the season!" said Lady Tiger sophomore coach Stehvn Tesar. "We made some halftime adjustments and started looking down at the post. Alex Schmidt really played well for us. The girls played tough defense and we came out with a victory."

Alex Schmidt led the Lady Tiger sophomores in scoring with 20 points. Rachel Warilla added six, Brittany Wagner scored five,

Fatima Guillen, four, and Amanda Osborn, Jennica Quintal, Arlene Futch, Lindsey Sessions and Cheyenne Castillo each scored two points.
