Coach Rob Daniels U14 soccer team had a bye in league play on Saturday and used the opportunity to stay fresh with its skills by traveling to Twin Falls to participate in a jamboree with the Twin Falls Rapids and Sawtooth United teams.

The boys came away with a 3-0 victory over Sawtooth, with Gustavo Martinez finding the back of the net for two scores and Mike Daniels adding the third goal. Tomas Guillen and Mike Daniels shared goalkeeping duties to preserve the shutout for United.

Mountain Home's second match of the day resulted in a 2-2 draw with the Rapids.

Tyler Brennan and Ricardo Araujo provided the scoring power, while guest player, goalie Jack Richelieu of the U13 Tigers, held the Rapids to the tie with his performance in the net.

"The whole team played well. It was a great weekend for us to play against some different teams and get that experience," said Coach Daniels.

The U11 Girls fell to Caldwell, 4-1, in an early morning match at Brothers Park in Caldwell. Team manager Nancy Orr said "the girls are still having a great time playing together as they continue to learn in their first season of competitive soccer."

Coach Humberto Garcia's U14 Girls also went down to defeat in Caldwell, losing a 2-1 heartbreaker with Kari VanStaalduinen providing the lone goal for the Tigers.

Coach Garcia said "the girls dominated the first half but with several girls recovering from illness, their energy fell apart in the second half. Even though we are struggling to win, I have seen many girls improve this year, especially since many were new to our soccer team."

U12 United Boys had a mid-week evening match with Idaho Rush at the Simplot Sports Complex and settled for a 4-4 draw. United found its 4-1 halftime lead disappear in the second half, with the tying score going in the net in the final minutes.

Austin Lee had a three-goal hat trick on the night, with Brandon Bodily putting in the final score.

"Our goalies, Tyler McCall and Kaleb Stevens, did a great job of fighting the wind in the second half to keep the game at a tie," Coach Curtis Viall said.

Mountain Home Youth Soccer teams finish their season Nov. 3 with home matches at Aguirre Park and Eastside Park. Registration for the spring season will begin upon completion of the fall league games.
