MHHS prepares for homecoming week

Mountain Home High will kick off its annual Homecoming week, Monday, Oct. 2.

On Monday, the sophomores will be dressed in costume under the theme "partners in crime", while the lunch-time activity will be a three-legged race. The night time activity, for Monday, will feature "Macho Man" volleyball between the senior and junior males starting at 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, the Juniors will be dressed up as pirates, and the lunch time activity will be blindfolded finger painting. The nighttime activity for Tuesday, will feature Sophomore, Varsity and Junior Varsity Volleyball matches starting at 4:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Seniors will be dressed under the theme, "all Asian all day", while the lunch time activity will feature samurai sword fighting.

The annual Powder Puff game between the senior and junior females will take place at Tiger Field starting at 7:00 p.m.

On Thursday, the student leadership will dress up in Hawaiian attire, while the scheduled lunch time activity will be a limbo contest. The students will being decorating the gym bleachers, for the next day's assembly from 4-9 p.m.

On Friday, Tiger Day will take place, where the students and faculty will dress in orange and black. The assembly where the homecoming king will be decided will start at 12:40 p.m., and the parade will last from 2 to 3 p.m.

The lunchtime activity will feature face painting in the high school foyer. The annual varsity homecoming football game against the Nampa Bulldogs will take place at Tiger Field, with kickoff set for 7 p.m., the tailgate party starts at 5:30 and last till 6:30 p.m.

The week will conclude with the homecoming dance starting at 9:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m.

The initial voting for the homecoming king and queen will take place, Wednesday, Sept. 28, with the final vote taking place the following week.

On Sept. 29, at 9 a.m., the students will begin their annual tradition of painting windows of local businesses, in preparation for the upcoming festivities.

The businesses involved in the painting include, Wells Fargo, Fitness First, Washington Mutual, and many other businesses downtown.
