MHHS Boys soccer team clobbers Emmett and Kuna
There's nothing like home cooking, as the Mountain Home Tigers boys soccer team picked up wins over Kuna and Emmett last week at home.
The Tigers got two goals from Bryan Walsh and one from Jesus Vasques as Mountain Home beat the Kavemen, 3-1, last Tuesday at Eastside Park.
Raif Armstrong had an assist, and Christian Figueroa had seven saves as goalkeeper.
"The guys really came together today," said Tiger boys soccer coach Paul Walsh. "The first half we were still kind of lacking a little bit, and I told them at halftime to make sure we'e getting the ball to white (jersey-Mountain Home), and they went out and sure did that second half."
The Tigers had their best offensive output of the season Thursday when they rolled to a 12-1 win over Emmett at Eastside Park.
Jesus Vasques had a hat-trick, scoring three goals for the Tigers. Daniel Snelgrow scored two goals, Greg Walsh, Bryan Walsh, Lucas Marsh, Logan Whitney, Chris Oswald, Jared Sexauer and Eric Weiss also scored goals. David Bitrick had three assists, Jesus Vasques, Greg Walsh, Eric Weiss and Walter Schmidt also had assists.
Christian Figueroa had 10 saves on goal.
"That was a fantastic effort," said Coach Walsh. "The guys really put it all together for a change. We really moved the ball well, probably the most unselfish game this season. They really played well together!"
The Tigers improved to 4-4-1 overall, and 3-4-1 in conference.
They were on the road at Skyview yesterday, and host Middleton tomorrow. They also host Jerome in a non-conference game on Saturday.
