Motorhome blaze starts brush fire

Monday, August 20, 2007

Just before 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon, the Mountain Home Rural Fire District responded to a vehicle fire where a 1984 29-foot Pace Arrow motorhome was engulfed in flames.

The fire briefly closed Highway 30 near the Desert Winds Chevron station and Burger King restaurant and was also responsible for starting a brush fire nearby.

Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the motorhome blaze once on scene and the vehicle did suffer major damage as a result of the fire.

Fire Chief Phil Gridley thought the probable cause of the fire was a faulty fuel line.

Crews were able to contain the brush fire, which was moving toward the railroad tracks, in approximately two hour. There were no injuries reported for the fires.
