City is strongly urged to resurface tennis courts

Wednesday, June 20, 2007

Dear editor:

As a parent of two teenagers who competed on the Mountain Home High School tennis team this year, I strongly urge our support of resurfacing/reconstructing the three Aguirre Park tennis courts.

The disrepair of the tennis courts creates the chance that injuries could occur. In addition, our community of Mountain Home gets a "black eye" when high school teams come to compete and make "negative" comments about our city based on the "lack of" quality of our tennis courts.

Although anyone can see the need to resurface our courts, funding is the real issue. Our city council must wisely prioritize where to spend the available money. Please help by contacting the city council (council@mountain-home.us) to allocate funding for this needed and worthy cause. We need to show them the depth of support for this issue.

Please invest the few minutes needed to inform our city council of your support for the resurfacing/reconstruction of our tennis courts. This resurfacing of the three Aguirre Park tennis courts would create a positive impression about our community to visiting high school teams and instill a sense of pride in the people of Mountain Home who will see and use them.
