Letter to the Editor

High school principal thanks all who helped with graduation

Monday, June 11, 2007

Dear editor:

Commencement for the Class of 2007 was held Friday, May 25, at Tiger Field. Mountain Home High School would like to thank the community of Mountain Home for all their support this year.

Not only did the community award these students with over $52,000 in local scholarships, it also supported all of our athletic and activity programs throughout the year.

In addition, I would like to thank Green's Nursery for their continued support by allowing us to rent shrubs to decorate the stage at graduation. Julie Vogl of Mulberry Place was kind enough to donate the pillars and trees that were placed on the graduation stage.

Also, Teresa Haydon put in many hours to make the two center pieces used at graduation.

I feel fortunate to live in such a generous and supportive community.

I would also like to thank the Mountain Home School District Maintenance Department and the high school custodians for setting everything up and making sure the facility was in great shape.

There were also two other groups who helped in many ways to make this a great year; the Tiger Boosters and the newly formed Alumni Association. Thanks to these groups, school spirit was extremely high and Homecoming was a huge success.

Mark your calendars for October 5, 2007 because the Class of 2008 has already started making plans to make next year's Homecoming bigger and better.

Also, I would like to thank the parents of the Class of 2007 for all their support this year. We were privileged to be entrusted with their children's futures and I hope we didn't disappoint. These parents spent countless hours putting together the Senior Celebration party, where over 200 students celebrated graduation in a safe manner.

Finally, to the seniors --thank you. You rose to every challenge I asked of you and set the bar high for future classes. You have left your mark at MHHS and I appreciate getting the opportunity to work with each of you. I wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors.
