UPDATE: Body found in Snake River identified as missing truck driver

Tuesday, May 29, 2007

The Owyhee County Sheriff's Office has identified a body found in the Snake River on Sunday as that of 42 year old Dewey W. Lee, Sr., of Rawlins, Wyoming.

Authorities were able to identify Lee from the numerous tattoos on his body, according to Chief Deputy Bruce Cameron.

Lee went missing earlier this month from a job as a truckdriver for a company in Utah.

The truck was found on Interstate 84 near Glenns Ferry in Elmore County.

Lee's body was discovered by a local fisherman, a little over a quarter mile from the Loveridge boat launch area on the Snake River near Bruneau on Sunday.

An autopsy performed Tuesday was inconclusive so toxicology and other testing will be performed on the body to determine a cause of death, based on information released by Owyhee County Sheriff Gary Aman.

"At this point in time, we have no reason to believe that foul play is involved but the investigation is continuing," Cameron said.
