Chris Jones and wife Patty won $100,000 playing the Idaho Lottery Holiday Magic scratch game.

Employees of the Jackson's store in Mountain Home said that customer Chris Jones was "shaky" and turned very pale when he recently stood at the counter and scratched off a Holiday Magic lottery ticket worth $100,000, right in front of them.

Described as a regular customer, Jones had gone into the store on April 29 and bought several of the Holiday Magic tickets that produced winnings of $275.

Jones returned to the store the following morning and bought another eight tickets, which sell for $15 each, and stood at the counter while he scratched the big winner.

Store manager Helen Baker and associate Quay Spaid, who were both working at the time, said that, "We couldn't believe it...it was really cool to watch someone stand there and scratch off a big winner!"

The store will receive 10 percent of the value of the winning ticket and according to Idaho Lottery spokesman David Workman, the remainder of the Holiday Magic series will be pulled since the big prize in the game has been won.

Jones and his wife Patty redeemed the ticket on May 2 at lottery headquarters in Boise, taking home $67,200 after taxes.

Employed as an electronic technician for Micron, Jones said he planned on using the winnings to pay off his car and some credit cards and invest the rest.
