Newspaper to launch new website

In the coming weeks, the Mountain Home News will launch a new and improved website at www.mountainhomenews.com that will feature daily news updates and expanded community information, local sports coverage, the addition of multimedia content like video coverage of news events, a photo gallery and classified advertisements.

Designed to be more interactive and user-friendly for readers, the new site will serve as the "destination" for news and activities happening in Elmore County and Eastern Owyhee County.

In response to readers' requests, the online news source will provide updated stories each day as information becomes available in a traditional story format or through inclusion in a "blog."

Speaking of blogs, the improved website will host blogs on a variety of topics written by newspaper staff and outside contributors that will promote discussion on a range of issues and subjects with a strong local interest, giving readers the opportunity to give their feedback on this content.

The website also will offer an electronic or "e-edition" of the weekly print newspaper in a Portable Document Format (.pdf), that will be available free for the first thirty days of the site launch and then will be offered on a subscription basis for a small fee.
