Cinco de Mayo celebration this Saturday

Mexican folk dancers will perform at Cinco de Mayo event.

The 4th Annual Fiesta Cinco de Mayo Celebration, sponsored by the Elmore County Hispanic Organization (EHCO), will be held at Carl Miller Park from 2-7 p.m. on Saturday, May 5.

The ECHO Youth Dancers will kick off the day's events by performing at Paul's Market from 11:30 a.m. to noon and at ColorTyme from 12:30-1 p.m.

Then all activities move to the park, beginning at 2 p.m.

The fiesta events there will feature traditional folkloric dance performances, a performing horse in the parking lot at Carl Miller Park, and traditional Mexican music throughout the day.

Performing the USA national anthem will be the Mountain Home High School Choir and Martin Gullien will be performing Mexico's national anthem.

The Combs Car Corral Jalapeno eating contest is scheduled at 3 p.m..

At the Paul's Market Children's Activity Tent area in Carl Miller Park children will learn how to make a paper flower, play loteria (Mexican Bingo) and have their face painted.

There also will be food booths featuring favorite Mexican foods and drinks available at the park.
