The Mountain Home Tigers are optimistic heading to this week's District III 4A Wrestling Tournament at Skyview this Thursday and Friday.

The Tigers have 14 wrestlers seeded in the top six of their weight categories, including six number one seeds: Kaeo Doronio (119 pounds), Calvin Vivier (140), Kamron Spaulding (145), Chris Knudson (171), Matt Ward (189), and Tyson Sessions (215).

Kori Andrews has the number two seed at 160 pounds. Tommy Miller (125), Nico Pinque (135), and Blake Pharis (285) are seeded third in their weight classes. T.J. Billinger has the number four seed at 112 pounds, Ryan Hammer is seeded fifth at 152 pounds, and Ty Kleffner (130) and Colby Lord (189) are seeded sixth.

"At the seeding meeting things went pretty well for the group," said Tiger wrestling coach Lynn Knudson. "We ended up with six number ones, and 14 kids total getting in the top six seeds, so it looks really good, and I still feel that we have other kids that will place in the top six as our seconds, so we're feeling pretty good about the district tournament. I think we'll have the kids ready to wrestle it, and hopefully, come out of there with a District Championship."

The District III 4A Wrestling Tournament begins at 4 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday), and concludes on Friday, both days at Skyview.
