Mountain Home's Kacy Barrie brought home two gold medals from the 4A State Track and Field Championships last week.

The senior, who won the 100 meter high hurdles last year as a junior, won not only the high hurdles this year, but also won the 300 intermediate hurdles at the 4A girls competition at Bronco Stadium.

Barrie also picked up points in the medley relay, which finished third, and the 4x100 meter relay, where the team came in fifth.

Other members of the medley relay team were Kristie Sigloh, Emily Moranda and Sherica Holman. Barrie, Moranda Holman and Alyzza Saltzgaber made up the 4x100 meter relay.

Piper Coffin was Mountain Home's other medalist, finishing eighth in the 100 meter high hurdles.

The Moscow girls won the 4A State competition, with 66 points. Post Falls finished second with 62, a point ahead of Emmett. Mountain Home finished in the number 12 spot, with 31, just a point from finishing in the top 10.

The Southern Idaho Conference finished one, two, three in the 4A boys competition, Bishop Kelly winning it with 74 points, Nampa was second with 66, and Skyview third with 61. Mountain Home came in at number 18, with 13 points.

Nick O'Briant led Mountain Home's boys team with a second-place effort in the high jump, tying the class record by jumping 6' 4".

Brandon Doble finished fifth in the 300 meter hurdles, and the Tigers' 4x200 meter relay team finished eighth.

Bob Daniels, Chris Knudson, Zacq Hale and Nick Barrie made up the 4x200 meter relay team.

Mountain Home Tiger head track coach Rich Urquidi was pleased with the efforts at state.

"We took a young group over there, with just two seniors that went, and myself and the rest of the coaches were real happy for Kacy winning both hurdles. She had two awesome runs in the finals, and even in the prelims to get there.

"I thought Nick getting second in the high jump, and both of our girls relays teams placing, we couldn't ask for more!

"Everything's looking up for next year. We got a lot of experience there at state and we are really pleased with the way the season ended."
