Bitrick's 77 leads Tiger golfers

Mountain Home Tiger golfer Steven Bitrick fired a 77 to lead the Mountain Home golf team at last week's SIC golf tournament at River Birch near Star.

Bitrick's 77 was eight shots back of Bishop Kelly's Jake Skinner, who took medalist honors with a 69. Bitrick tied for ninth place.

Vallivue won the event, shooting a team score of 298, two shots better than Bishop Kelly. Emmett was three shots back of Bishop Kelly at 303, followed by Caldwell, 314, and Skyview, 320. Mountain Home was sixth at 329, followed by Nampa, 335, and Kuna, 342.

Besides Bitrick's 77, Ross Conte shot an 81, Eric Gardzina came in with an 85, and Nick Trueba shot an 86.

Bishop Kelly won the girls competition, which saw only four of the eight conference teams having full teams. Bishop Kelly came in with a 309 team score, Vallivue was second with 337, Caldwell shot 347, and Mountain Home was a distant fourth at 468.

Kimi Hamaishi led Mountain Home's girls team, shooting an even 100 over the 18 holes. Shayla Streeter came in with a 118 score, and Carly Vaughn and Shantell Beasley both shot 128.

Mountain Home was at Falcon Crest for SIC boys action on Monday and girls action on Tuesday.
