Mountain Home softball pitcher Ali Hillman was throwing blanks last week, pitching shutout wins over Capital and Glenns Ferry in non-conference softball.

Capital 0

Behind Ali Hillman's one-hit pitching, the Mountain Home Lady Tigers downed the Lady Eagles from Capital last Tuesday in Mountain Home. Mountain Home had just six hits of their own, but were able to put three runs on the scoreboard for the win.

"It was a nice win," said Lady Tiger softball coach Joy Memmelaar. "The girls played a good game today. They played solid defense and spread our hits around a little bit, but we managed to get some players on and take advantage of some mistakes the other team made to score a couple other runs."

Ali Hillman struck out four and walked five while giving up one hit to improve to 5-3 on the season. Ashley Kipp had two hits, Carmen Santy, Sammy Dodge, Sheena Nelson and Breann Christiansen all had hits, Christiansen had an RBI.

Glenns Ferry 0

Ali Hillman pitched her second straight shutout and third of the season as the Lady Tiger beat Glenns Ferry 6-0 in Glenns Ferry last Thursday. She helped her cause with a three-run home run in the first inning.

Besides Hillman's home run, Kim Hamilton, Carmen Santy, Ashley Kipp, Sammy Dodge, Brei Draper and Breann Christiansen also had hits, Dodge also had two RBIs.

"The girls did a nice job!" said Coach Memmelaar. "That's probably the best game so far for Ali, the girls played solid defense behind her, and we hit the ball well."

The win improved Hillman to 6-3 on the season and the Lady Tigers to 6-3 overall.

Mountain Home hosted Bishop Kelly yesterday (Tuesday) and travels to Emmett this (Wednesday) afternoon for a 4 p.m. conference game against the Lady Huskies.
