Barrie leads girls track

The Mountain Home Tiger girls track team placed third in a four-team track meet at Timberline High School in Boise last Thursday. The boys finished fourth.

Boise edged Timberline for first place, 94-91. Mountain Home scored 61 points and Kuna was a distant fourth with 46.

Kacy Barrie had first-place efforts in both the 100 and 300 meter hurdle events, and was second in the pole vault.

Kaleena Bluemer won the shot put, and tied for second in the high jump.

Mountain Home also had second-place efforts by Emily Moranda in the 300 meter hurdles, Alyssa Saltzgaber in the triple jump, Kristie Sigloh in the long jump, and Dani Dean in the high jump (tie). The Mountain Home four by 100 meter and 800 meter sprint medley relay teams also took second.

Boise ran away with the boys competition, scoring 98.5 points. Timberline was second with 59 points, Kuna had 55, and Mountain Home, 53.

Nick O'Briant had Mountain Home's only first place, winning the high jump.

Nick Barrie had second place efforts in the long jump and triple jump. Brandon Sloan finished second in the 1,600 meters and third in the 3,200 meter run. Josh Driskell was second in the shot put, Victor Werner was second in the 400 meter dash, Brandon Doble was third in the 300 meter hurdles, Robert Moss tied for third in the 200 meter dash, and the Mountain Home four by 200 meter relay team finished second and the four by 400 meter relay team came in third.
