Charles Davidson won a 16-5 major decision at 215 pounds. Kaeo Doronio won a 9-6 decision at 112 pounds, Kori Andrews won a 9-4 decision at 160 pounds, and Matt Ward won a 12-9 decision at 189 pounds.

T.J. Billinger lost by pin at 103 pounds, Chris Vogl lost by technical fall (17-1) at 125 pounds, Ryan Hammer (152 pounds) lost a 12-4 major decision, Colby Lord (171) lost a tough 3-2 decision, and Blake Pharis lost by pin at 275 pounds.

"I didn't really know how that was going to come out," said Tiger wrestling coach Lynn Knudson, who was missing several starters due to injuries.

"We ended up starting four JV wrestlers and they all came up big for us. I was really happy with the way the team came together and did an outstanding job there at Kuna.

"Chris Vogl stepped up and wrestled a very good match at 125 pounds. He ended up getting teched (by technical fall), but he didn't get pinned, so that was really big, saving us a point.

"Ryan Hammer, at 152 pounds, stepped up and wrestled a 12-4 match, which was an outstanding match for him. Colby Lord, he's a 160-pounder, he stepped up and wrestled at 171 and lost a close 3-2 match, and Matt Ward, a 171-pounder, he wrestled up at 189 and won, 12-9, and that was really big for us, to win at Kuna."

Mountain Home 73

Emmett 3

Mountain Home took advantage of an undermanned Emmett wrestling squad to improve to 5-0 in conference duals, beating the Huskies, 73-3, Thursday night in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium.

The Tigers won by pins in six matches and took advantage of five forfeits by Emmett.

Winning by pins were Daniel Doronio, (125 pounds), Nico Pinque (130), James Greenfield (145), Zacq Hale (152), Charles Davidson (215) and Blake Pharis (275).

Picking up wins by forfeit were T.J. Billinger (103), Alex Lawicki (112), Kaeo Doronio (119), Colby Lord (160), and Keith Bonney (189).

Calvin Vivier won an 11-2 major decision and A.J. Hutchinson won an 8-5 decision. Matt Ward lost a 10-6 decision at 171 pounds.

"Emmett had a number of forfeits due to illness, so that really wasn't a real tough match, but the guys who wrestled, wrestled well, said Coach Knudson."

MOUNTAIN HOME WINS BURLEY JV WRESTLING TOURNEY

Mountain Home came away with the championship trophy at the Burley Invitational Junior Varsity Wrestling Tournament Saturday at Burley. There were 16 teams competing.

"The kids did an outstanding job stepping up at Burley," said Coach Knudson. "They were getting lots of matches, so that's going to make us that much tougher going into district later on."

The Tigers host Skyview and Meridian tomorrow (Thursday) night in a couple of dual matches in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium. The Tigers will wrestle Skyview at 5 p.m. and then face Meridian at approximately 7 p.m. Mountain Home will go to the Weiser Invitational Wrestling Tournament this weekend in Weiser.
