The Junior Varsity Lady Tigers won their two games this past week beating the Nampa Bulldogs 49-26 and the Jerome Tigers 35-32.

The Sophomore Girl's only had one game this past week and they fell to the Lady Bulldogs 39-22.

For the JV in the Nampa game the Lady Tigers jumped out to an early 12-0 lead and never looked back. They led 21-4 at the halt and 34-10 at the end of three quarters.

Nampa did outscore the Tigers in the fourth quarter 16-15 but it was too little too late as the Tigers won 49-26.

Leading the scoring for the Tigers was Brandie Riggs with 15 points. Chantell Crane was second on the team with 10 points. Emily Moranda added 8 points, while Sheena Nelson had 5 points, Laura Lothrop and Maggie Peterson each had 4 points, Hannah Zamora had 2 points and Sammy Dawson chipped in 1 point.

Although they didn't score, Katie Price and Alyssa Saltzgaber each played great defense to help the team, according to their coach. Maggie and Sheena led the team with 7 rebounds each. Chantell had 6 while Brandie had 5.

Against Jerome it would be a different story for the Lady Tigers as the game was tight the whole way.

Mountain Home jumped out to a 6-4 lead in the first quarter. Jerome battled the Lady Tigers even in the second quarter with both teams scoring six points and Mountain Home led 12-10 at the half.

Both teams came out blazing in the third quarter, each putting up 12 points and the game stood Mountain Home 24 and Jerome 22 at the end of the third quarter. A close fourth quarter followed with each team trading baskets but the Lady Tigers held on, defeating Jerome 35-32.

Leading the way in scoring was Chantell Crane with 6 points. Laura Lothrop and Emily Moranda each had 6 points. Sammy Dawson had 5 points, Hannah Zamora had 4 points, Alyssa Saltzgaber had 3 points, Brandie Riggs had 2 points, and Sheena Nelson had 1 point for the Tigers. Chantell and Sheena led the team with 5 rebounds each. Alyssa and Emily each had 4 rebounds.

In the sophomore game against the Lady Bulldogs the Tigers started out just fine but as soon as point guard Shalamar Enriquez picked up her second foul and had to sit down the team kind of lost its focus and fell behind 24-13 at the end of the first half. Neither team lit up the score board in the second half, but Nampa held on for the 39-22 victory.

Francesca Hale led the soph's with 8 points. Annika Moody and Ashley Christiansen each had 4 points. Katrina Cram, Holland Nichelson, and Shalamar Enriquez each chipped in 2 points to help the team.

Hale also led the team with 8 rebounds while Holland added 4 boards.

Both teams have two games this week. On Tuesday they travel to Kuna and on Friday they host the Caldwell Cougars.
