The Mountain Home Tiger sophomores opened their boys basketball season with a 63-53 win over the Boise sophomores Saturday at Boise High School.

Mountain Home led 12-8 after a quarter, and built their lead to seven points before Boise fought back to take the lead, 28-24, at the half. The young Tigers regained the lead in the third quarter, and scored 21 fourth quarter points to win by 10, 63-53.

"We had the lead into the second quarter, but fell behind at halftime," said Tiger sophomore boys basketball coach Matt Bundy. "We came out in the third quarter and hit a couple threes and took the lead and just never gave it up, so they did a good job."

Trevin Pauley led the Tigers in scoring with 15 points, Zane Bundy added 11. Jordan Cisna, Nick Gula and Ryan Carlen each netted nine points, Jake Hiler scored seven, and Justin Jarvis scored three points. Coach Bundy also praised the efforts of Brad Yagues and Travis Gordon.

The Mountain Home Tigers junior varsity squad took the lead early, and built up a 30-18 lead at halftime.

Boise's JV fought back in the second half, and tied the game at 40-40, and got the ball back with 3.5 seconds left, and hit a basket at the buzzer to beat Mountain Home, 42-40.
