Clara Shipley, 74

Clara Mae Shipley, 74, formerly of Mountain Home, died Oct. 14, 2005 in Kirkland, Wash.

She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on July 12, 1931, graduating from Rule High School in 1951.

Clara was a manager in food services, having worked for Northwest College, Kirkland, Wash., for 11 years as an assistant at the college cafeteria, retiring in 1991.

She was a member of the Assembly of God in Mountain Home and attended the Cedar Park Assembly of God in Bothell, Wash.

Clara enjoyed visiting people in nursing homes and in hospitals. She did volunteer clerical work in the business office of Cedar Park Church where she also worked in the nursery, her family said, adding, "she was a happy, jolly type person that loved people."

Clara is survived by: her husband of 53 years, Arvel E. Shipley, whom she married Feb. 15, 1952, in York, S.C.; her sons, Wes Shipley of Kirkland, Wash., and Mark Shipley of Kirkland, Wash.; her daughters, Marion Canoy of Bothell, Wash., and Karen Mickelson of Pocatello; 11 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

There will be no public services. Arrangements are under the care of Chapel of the Resurrection Funeral Home, 16300 112th Avenue NE, Bothell, WA, 98011.
