Boys soccer goes 0-1-1 for the week

Wednesday, September 28, 2005

The Emmett Huskies scored the winning goal late in the second half to pull off a 5-4 win over the Mountain Home Tigers last Monday at Eastside Park.

Marcos Ortiz had three goals for Mountain Home, Greg Walsh had one.

Aaron Swartz had 13 saves on goal.

"The kids came out to play today," said Tiger boys soccer coach Andrew Kerr. "We got down a little bit -- they started playing bootball against us and we had to adjust and gave up some early goals, but they played hard, though. They started working the ball around and played as a team, they hustled and kept working at it. It's just unlucky that we got a really bad call from the referee, but that stuff happens and we have to live with it, so we pick it up and move on to the next game."

The Tigers went to Caldwell last Thursday, where they battled to a 1-1 tie with the Cougars in SIC 4A conference soccer.

The Tigers traveled to Fruitland on Monday for a non-conference match, and return to conference play tomorrow (Thursday) for a home match against Vallivue. They head back on the road Friday for a non-conference match at Jerome.
