Mildred Walker, 81

Mildred Walker, 81, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at The Cottages of Mountain Home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home. No local services are planned.

Mildred was born in England and served in the British Women's Army Corp during World War II. While in England, she met and married Edwin James Walker, a Canadian, and they immigrated to the United States shortly after the war.

Mildred traveled extensively throughout the world, including Europe, Japan and Saudi Arabia, partly due to her husband's 20-year service in the United States Army.

Mildred attended St. James Episcopal Church while her health allowed.

Mildred is survived by: three nephews Dennis, Neal and Cameran McPartlin of New Jersey, and a niece Jayne Cook of Mountain Home.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Edwin; a son, Allan; and a brother, Jack McPartlin.
