She was born Nov. 3, 1935, on the family farm in rural Trego County, Kan., to John J. and Fannie (Razak) Littlechild. She attended Pleasant Valley School District #3 in Trego County, Kan., and earned her GED through Colby Community College.
Gladys was a caregiver for her parents and worked for the Senior Companion Program in Kansas for many years.
"She was always willing to help others," her family said. "Gladys was a devoted mother and grandmother who never underestimated a listening ear or the smallest act of caring."
Hobbies included bowling, bingo, reading, playing cards, fishing, and cooking. Christmas candy was her specialty.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Mountain Home.
Survivors include: two sons, Steven Jones and his wife, Tracy, of Peterborough, N.H., Allen Jones and his wife, Amy, of Brookings, S.D.; a brother, Kenneth Littlechild of WaKeeney; three sisters, Evelye Tegtmeyer and Mary Ellen Overland, both of WaKeeney, and Betty Elder of Milwaukee, Ore.; and two grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; five brothers, Dale, Myron, Walter, Jack, and Robert Littlechild; and two sisters, Grace Kysar and Barbara Ann Brown.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
