Tennis team falls to Emmett

The Mountain Home Tigers tennis team dropped an 11-1 SIC 4A conference tennis match at Emmett last week.

Vince Canlas and Sean James picked up Mountain Home's only win, battling back after dropping the first set 4-6, to win the next two sets, 6-3, 6-4, over Brian Murray and Tyler Vollendorf in the number two boys doubles match.

Jason Ward and Jordan Niksich lost the number one boys doubles match to Chris Wilson and Shawn Wright, 1-6, 4-6.

In girls singles, Julie Remington lost the number one singles match to Muriel Barrus, 4-6, 6-7 (2-7). Laura Lothrop lost 3-6, 4-6, to Kathryn Pawlick, and Cami Pachner dropped a 6-7(5-7), 1-6 match to Amanda Downen.

In boys singles, Justin Richins lost the number one singles match to Kevin Adams, 5-7, 1-6.

Luke Anderson lost to Ben Galloway, 0-6, 4-6, and Dan Remington lost to Jake Mondor, 3-6, 6-3, 4-6.

In girls doubles, Samantha Morrison and Annie Bledsoe lost 1-6, 0-6, and Caroline Lytle and Lindsay Horgan lost 2-6, 4-6.

In mixed doubles, Phil Roemer and Jessica Hoover lost to Shaun Savage and Karissa Mendenhall, 1-6, 5-7, and Matt McCluskey and Samantha Springer lost to Devin Lloyd and Sarah Downs, 4-6, 6-7(2-7).

The Tigers closed out their regular season schedule Monday at home against Nampa. The District III 4A Tennis Tournament is this Thursday and Friday in Caldwell.
