Golf team shows improvement

The Mountain Home Tiger golf team showed improvement in both the girls and boys competition in SIC 4A conference action at Purple Sage Golf Course in Caldwell last Monday.

Mountain Home moved up a place to finish seventh, ahead of Emmett. Bishop Kelly won the competition, shooting a 173 total to beat Vallivue by seven shots. Caldwell was third with a 192, two strokes better than Nampa. Skyview finished fifth with 213, Kuna was next with 222.

Mountain Home came in at 235, with Emmett, 238.

Jimena Garcia led Mountain Home with a 49, which tied her for 14th. Carlotta Vaughn shot a 57, Brianna Rodriguez carded a 62, and Shantell Beasley shot a 67.

Vallivue and Bishop Kelly both totaled 152 in the boys competition. Caldwell was third at 159, followed by Emmett at 163. Kuna was fifth with a 171, three shots ahead of Mountain Home. Nampa was seventh at 180, and Skyview shot a 185.

Joe Rebon led Mountain Home with a 38, which tied him for 8th. Nick Trueba shot a 44, Layne Short had a 45, Monte Rinebold carded a 47, and Stephen Bitrick came in with a 52.

The Tiger boys played a conference tourney yesterday (Tuesday) at Falcon Crest Golf Course.

The girls are there today (Wednesday), and the girls are also in action tomorrow (Thursday) at Purple Sage in Caldwell.

The Mountain Home Invitational is coming up April 18 at Desert Canyon Golf Course.
