After dropping games to Skyview and Borah, the Mountain Home Lady Tigers came from behind to beat Bishop Kelly Friday at Bishop Kelly.

Skyview 10

Mountain Home 0

The Lady Tigers were 10-runned by Skyview last Tuesday at Mountain Home in SIC 4A conference softball.

The Lady Tigers were no-hit by Skyview's pitcher Jennie Hatch, who was not over-powering, as Mountain Home hit the ball well, but right at the Skyview defenders.

"We had some nice hits that went directly to people and we didn't hit any gaps to advance us around," said Mountain Home Lady Tiger softball coach Joy Memmelaar after the game. "We didn't have what we needed today. It was a little less than what we were looking for. We kind of took a step backward. Let's hope we can figure it out tomorrow so we can finish off the week on a positive note."

Ali Hillman suffered the loss, giving up eight hits --four of them by Ashley Galeai, including a two-run home run. Hillman struck out six, walked seven and hit two batters.

Borah 9

Mountain Home 0

The undefeated Lady Lions from Borah scored four runs in the third and seventh innings on their way to a 9-0 win over Mountain Home last Thursday at Eastside Park in Mountain Home

The Lady Tigers had three hits, and once again hit the ball fairly well, but mainly right at somebody.

"It was a tough game, but actually the score kind of lies a little bit about how the girls played," said Coach Memmelaar after the game. "We actually played a very good game. We had a double-play right off the bat in the first inning, and we had some other plays throughout the game defensively, so we picked it up defensively a little bit, and we did actually hit the ball today, but we're still hitting it right at them."

Ashley Kipp, Kim Hamilton and Paula Doerr had the hits for Mountain Home.

Michelle Reynolds suffered the loss, dropping to 1-2 on the season. She gave up nine hits while striking out five and walking four.

Bishop Kelly 6

The Lady Tigers picked up their first conference win Friday, battling back for the win.

Brei Draper lined a shot down the first-base line in the top of the seventh that scored what proved to be the winning runs.

The Lady Knights got to Mountain Home pitcher Ali Hillman for four runs in the bottom of the first, and the Lady Tigers trailed 4-1.

Mountain Home scored two in the top of the fourth, to come within one, but the Lady Knights added a run in the bottom of the inning to lead 5-3.

A three-run home run by Sammy Dodge in the top of the fifth gave Mountain Home its first lead, but Bishop Kelly scored a run in the bottom half to tie the game at 6-6.

In the top of the seventh, Brei Draper lined a smash off the first baseman's glove that scored Michelle Reynolds and Sammy Dodge to put the Lady Tigers up, 8-6.

Ali Hillman then set the Lady Knights down in the bottom half to preserve the win.

"It was a good win!" said a happy Coach Memmelaar after the game. "We gave up four early runs to B.K. there in that first inning, and then the girls came around and shut them down and just allowed two more (runs) the rest of the game, and the hitting came around. We stopped hitting at people and started hitting around them and it showed today. They played a nice game."

Sammy Dodge and Brei Draper both had two hits and three RBIs, Paula Doerr had two hits and drove in one run. Ali Hillman had two hits, Whitney Hedgpeth had a hit and an RBI, and Trisha Van Meer also had a hit.

Hillman got the win to improve to 2-3 on the season. She gave up just five hits, struck out four and walked seven.

The Lady Tigers improved to 1-3 in conference play and 3-5 overall.

Mountain Home hosted Emmett yesterday (Tuesday) and hosts Vallivue tomorrow (Thursday), both games conference encounters, then travel to Burley on Saturday for a non-conference doubleheader.
