Harriers finish 7th

The Mountain Home Tigers finished seventh in last Friday's Mountain Home Invitational Cross Country Meet at Desert Canyon Golf Course.

Nampa narrowly edged Vallivue for first, 54-56. Centennial was third, with 59.

Emmett was a distant fourth, with 159 points. Middleton next, with 164, followed by Meridian, with 170, a point ahead of Mountain Home. Kuna was eighth, with 205, followed by McCall-Donnelly, 211, and Ontario, 244.

Brandon Sloan topped the Mountain Home runners with a 10th place finish, with a time of 18:19. Scott Riley and Lawrence Johnson finished 35th and 36th.

The Tigers go to Eagle Island State Park Friday for the District III 4A Cross Country Meet, where the top four teams will qualify for next week's State Meet in Soda Springs. With Nampa, Vallivue and Bishop Kelly all strong programs, the Tigers will be battling Caldwell, Kuna, Emmett and Skyview for fourth place.
