First place in the conference was on the line last Monday at Eastside Park, when the Mountain Home Lady Tigers dropped a 3-1 SIC 4A girls soccer match to Emmett.

The Lady Huskies jumped out to a 3-0 lead, and held off Mountain Home. Emily Miranda scored Mountain Home's lone goal in the second half. For the night, Karen Kohtz finished with 17 saves on goal.

"It was a tough loss," said Lady Tiger assistant soccer coach Jay Lockett. "We played a challenging team, but didn't play our best, we didn't bring our 'A' game this time, but we played well, especially the second half. We're trying different things to see what works before district starts."

The loss put Mountain Home at 3-2-1 in league play. Emmett stands at 4-1-1.

"The girls are playing better now than they have all season," said Coach Lockett, "which is good to see as we head into the final weeks of the season."
