Tiger harriers finish sixth

Wednesday, September 15, 2004

Brandon Sloan and Scott Riley paced the Mountain Home Tigers boys cross country team to a sixth-place finish at a cross country meet at Homedale Thursday.

Sloan finished seventh, and Scott Riley eighth, both with a time of 18:43. Tim Whitmarsh finished 23rd with a time of 19:46. Jim Hoffman and Keith Bonny finished 61 and 62.

The Tigers finished with 161 points, good for sixth place. Emmett was first with 84 points.

"I wasn't disappointed," said Tiger cross country coach Doug Root of the team's Homedale performance. "We didn't run quite as well as we did at New Plymouth the week before, but this was a slightly tougher course, so I was basically pleased with what we did."

Root has no girls running cross country.

Also running at Homedale were Cory Fisher and Wes Haws, who ran in the JV meet.

This week the Tigers will be at the Weiser Invitational tomorrow (Thursday) at Weiser.
