The Mountain Home Tigers won two of three boys soccer contests last week.

Mountain Home 3

Caldwell 0

The Mountain Home Tigers opened SIC 4A Conference boys soccer with a 3-0 win over the Caldwell Cougars last Monday at Caldwell.

The Tigers got goals from Brady Rector, Brian Weiss and Romero Pedroza.

Antonio Martinez recorded six saves as goal keeper for the Tigers.

"It's nice to open conference play with a win," said Tiger boys soccer coach Andrew Kerr.

"We pretty much controlled the match 75 percent of the time, and maintained what we wanted to do, and played solid defense."

Middleton 3

Mountain Home 1

The Tigers had an off day last Wednesday at Middleton, when they dropped a non-conference soccer match to the Vikings.

Brian Weiss scored the lone Tiger goal on the day.

"The guys played really flat," said Coach Kerr. "We had to wait a couple hours for referees to show up, and the wait affected our play."

Mountain Home 1

Payette 0

The Tigers got revenge on an earlier 2-1 loss to the Pirates, with a 1-0 shutout win over Payette Friday.

Romero Pedroza scored the only goal of the match, off an assist from Marcos Ortiz. Antonio Martinez registered six saves on goal for the Tigers.

"We played really well defensively," said Coach Kerr. "It was a really great team effort."

Mountain Home hosted Vallivue yesterday and travels to Kuna this (Wednesday) afternoon.

On Saturday, the Mountain Home girls and boys soccer teams will be hosting a soccer jamboree starting at 10 a.m.
