The Mountain Home Lady Tigers completely dominated the visiting Lady Tigers from Jerome last Thursday in their season opener at Eastside Park. Mountain Home got off 30 shots against their opponent, with Emily Miranda scoring both goals.

Karen Kohtz had three saves on goal for Mountain Home.

"It was a great win," said assistant coach Jay Lockett afterwards. "We played hard. We're a young team with one senior and about 20 sophomores and six juniors, so we're very young. We have a good future and a good season coming up."

Mountain Home battled back from a 3-0 deficit against Payette Friday, but fell short when the Lady Pirates scored in the final three minutes. Jessica Hendershot had three goals and Jennifer Rumley scored one for Mountain Home. Angelina Garcia had an assist.

Savannah Lopez had 12 saves as goal keeper.

"The girls played well, and fought back after getting down early. We had our chances, but just couldn't get the ball in the net," said Coach Lockett.

The loss evened Mountain Home's record at 1-1. The Lady Tigers opened conference play Monday at Eastside Parkagainst Caldwell. They are also at home on Friday, when they host Payette.
