A seven-run third inning put the Lady Tigers in front to stay, and a five-run sixth provided the exclamation point in the lopsided win, the Lady Tigers sseventh of the season, and second straight conference win.

"It was a very nice win," said a happy Mountain Home softball coach Joy Memmelaar after the game. "It's really good to see the girls come alive with their bats and keep them going, and they played very solid defense. They did a heck of a job."

Krista Gorman had three hits and three RBIs to lead a 15-hit attack. Paula Doerr, Michelle Reynolds and Kristen Brandli each had two hits, Reynolds and Brandli had RBIs. Des Walden had a double and three RBIs, and Ali Hillman, Katie Woods and Trisha VanMeer each had hits and RBIs, and Carmen Santy also had a hit.

Ali Hillman picked up her second win of the season, striking out three and walking six.

A two-run error helped Kuna take a 3-0 lead over the Lady Tigers last Friday at Kuna. The Lady Tigers hit the ball well, but managed only two hits off Brooke Judy and Amanda Boschma.

"The girls came out hitting, but it (the ball) went into every glove that they had on the field, while theirs kind of had eyeballs," said Coach Memmelaar in a post-game radio interview.

"We gave up a few runs that we shouldn't have on misconnections, where we picked up the second out, but missed the first out and allowed them to score a couple runs each time. It gives us something to work on as we head to Caldwell, but, all in all, it wasn't as bad as it sounds."

The Lady Tigers got runners as far as third base in four different innings, but could not score them.

Paula Doerr doubled in the third for Mountain Home's first hit, and Jessica DesPres singled in the seventh when the Lady Tigers loaded the bases but failed to score.

Michelle Reynolds suffered the loss, her fourth against five wins. She had two strikeouts and no walks, but hit four batters.

The Lady Tigers took a 2-4 conference record and 7-12 overall mark into yesterday (Tuesday)'s game at Caldwell. The Lady Tigers are home against Middleton this afternoon in a non-conference play, and go to Bishop Kelly on Friday.
