The Mountain Home Lady Tigers were shut out by the Lady Knights from Bishop Kelly in a home softball game in Mountain Home last Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers only had six base runners the whole game, and never more than one an inning.

"Defensively, we played well, but we just did not hit -- at least no more than one an inning," said Lady Tiger coach Joy Memmelaar after the game. "We're just struggling with our bats."

Kristen Brandli had two hits for Mountain Home. Des Walden, Ali Hillman and Sammy Dodge had the other hits.

Hillman suffered the loss, giving up seven hits while striking out four and walking five.

A three-run home run by Ali Hillman helped Mountain Home score four runs in the fourth inning at Emmett last Friday. A seventh inning rally by Emmett fell a run short, as the Lady Tigers hung on for a 4-3 win.

Des Walden had a single to knock in Mountain Home's other run, and Kristen Brandli and Krista Gorman both had two hits. Michelle Reynolds and Jessica DesPres also had hits.

Reynolds, going the distance, gave up just six hits and picked up the win, which improved her to 5-3.

"The girls were prepared," said Coach Memmelaar.

"We worked hard on our hitting and our defense and put it all together. We played good defense and got some good hits, and picking up our first conference win was a nice plus."

The Lady Tigers took a 1-3 conference mark and 6-11 overall record into yesterday (Tuesday)'s home conference game against Vallivue. They go to Kuna on Friday, and are back on the road April 27 at Caldwell.
