David Brophy, 62

David R. Brophy, 62, of Mountain Home, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at his residence.

Per his request no services will be held. Cremation is under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

David was born Aug. 8, 1941, in Washington, D.C., the son of Robert and Dorothy (Maring) Brophy. He grew up in Billings, Mont., graduating from Billings High School before joining the Air Force.

David retired from the Air Force in 1979 at Mountain Home Air Force Base.

David enjoyed working on electronic countermeasures. He loved working on his home computer, listening to his music, and watching sports. He enjoyed owning and operating Brophy's Pub in Mountain Home. David was a member of the Mountain Home Elk's Lodge and the American Legion.

He succumbed to complications of diabetes.

David is survived by: his wife, Pamela Brophy of Mountain Home; daughter Karen Rau of Boise; son Michael of Mountain Home; brothers Tom Brophy (Virginia Beebe) of Fresno, Calif., Mike (Kathy) Brophy of Billings, Mont.; sisters Judy (Harley) Rimer and Beverly (Dan) Watts, both of Missoula, Mont., three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
