The Mountain Home Tigers went 3-1 in dual matches at the Burnett Wrestling Classic at Centennial High School last weekend, earning them second place in the Classic.

The Tigers opened against Boise on Friday, and beat the Braves 70-9. They then faced Eagle, and lost a tough, close 43-22 match. On Saturday, the Tigers got past Weiser 40-32, and beat Centennial 57-16.

Bobby Cornford, Kyle Hickerson, David Wise, Mike Ramsey and Chris Hathaway all went 4-0 at the Burnett Classic. Jason Greenfield went 2-0, and Kori Andrews was 1-0. A.J. Hutchison and Kole Spaulding both went 3-1. James Greenfield went 2-1. Charles Davidson was 2-2, and Garrett Wells, 1-2. Braden Lawson and Jim Hoffman both went 0-2, and Tyson Sessions and Corey Baum were both 0-4.

"We had a good effort there, starting with our 70-9 win over Boise in our first match," said Tiger wrestling coach Lynn Knudson.

"We had a real, real tough match against Eagle Friday night. The score looks like it was a big loss, but, for the most part, it was a very, very close match. We came back Saturday with wins over Weiser and Centennial, so it was a good weekend for Mountain Home."

Knudson pointed out a number of Tiger wrestlers are off to a great start this season.

"We have some kids that are undefeated and have some great records and are definitely looking like they're going to be placeable at district and state. They should get some pretty good seedings at the rest of the tournaments that we're going to see this year.

"The team's doing well, both the varsity and the JV, and we're looking forward to seeing what happens at district and state."

Knudson indicated that David Wise is 19-0 thus far. Kyle Hickerson is 13-0. Mike Ramsey is 15-2, James Greenfield stands at 16-3, Chris Hathaway and Garrrett Wells are both 13-3, Bobby Cornford is 10-2, A.J. Hutchison is 13-5, Kole Spaulding, 11-5, Kori Andrews, 11-8, and Charles Davidson, 7-11.

The Tigers are at Caldwell tonight for a conference dual with the Cougars. Saturday is a JV Tourney at Capital for freshmen and sophomores.
