Tigers win post-season honors

With the end of the fall sports seasons, come the announcement of All-Conference and other awards.

Several Mountain Home athletes earned All-Conference recognition in their sports.

In boys soccer, Mountain Home Tiger boys soccer coach Hugo Hurtado was voted 4A SIC Coach of the Year.

Stephen Reinschmidt earned First Team honors as a midfielder, and Jeff Hawley was First Team fullback. Mitch Thomas earned Second Team All- Conference honors at goalie. Marcus Santistevon earned Second Team honors at midfielder, and Brian Weiss was Second Team as striker.

Honorable Mention went to Donovan Wilson at fullback, Drew White at midfielder, and Kevin Lee and Chris Ouellette as strikers.

In volleyball, four Mountain Home Lady Tigers received Honorable Mention honors -- Shelby Wickmark, Krista Gorman, Rachelle Garland and Kim Gulley.

In girls soccer, Karen Kohtz made Second Team All-Conference as goalie. Kim Neely and Angelina Garcia both made First Team All-Conference as midfielders, Sidnei Banks made Second Team All-Conference as fullback, and Jessica Hendershot was Second Team All-Conference as a striker.

Earning All-Conference SIC Academic honors were Nate Bundy and Bethany Glidden in cross country, Cathy Gilbert, Dani Goldfein, Kim Neely and Carmen Santy in girls soccer, Stephen Reinschmidt and Jorge Dominguez in boys soccer, Paula Barrientos, Amanda Bitterman, Krista Gorman, Kim Gulley, Lauren Hicks, Tiffany Robins, Christa Stanton and Shelby Wickmark in volleyball, and Stan Bessey, Andrew Grodi, Stephen Reinschmidt, Matt Maurer, Shawn Morin and Aaron White in football.

All-Conference football awards will be voted on by conference coaches on Nov. 5.
