Boys soccer defeats Caldwell

Mountain Home came away with a split of its SIC 4A boys soccer matches last week, losing a close match against Vallivue, but downing Caldwell on the road.

The Tigers almost pulled off an upset at home last Tuesday against the Falcons, who had shut out the Tigers 7-0 earlier in the season at Vallivue.Stephen Reinschmidt and Brian Weiss scored goals for Mountain Home. Jorge Dominguez had an assist, and Mitch Thomas had 12 saves on goal.

The Tigers got two goals from Stephen Reinschmidt -- he now leads the team with 10 -- and one from Brian Weiss last Thursday in its 3-1 win at Caldwell. Brady Rector had an assist, and Mitch Thomas had four saves on goal for the Tigers, who improved to 4-2-1 in conference play, and 5-8-1 overall.

The Tigers closed out their conference schedule at Emmett yesterday (Tuesday), and close out the regular seasons schedule with Senior Day against Fruitland at Eastside Park tomorrow (Thursday).
