Mountain Home split its conference matches last week, and also lost at Jerome in non-conference girls soccer action.

Mountain Home hosted conference leading Kuna at Eastside Park last Monday, and were shut out by the Lady Kavemen, 3-0.

Kuna, which leads the SIC 4A conference, has just one tie as a blemish on their schedule, but the Mountain Home girls played them tough.

"This (Kuna) is one of the strongest teams in our district," said Mountain Home girls soccer coach Carlos Correa, "and two simple mistakes led to us giving up two quick goals, and it was hard for us to recover, but we kept in the game and tried our best to get back in, we just couldn't score any."

Mountain Home bounced back into the win column last Wednesday, downing Emmett 3-1 at Eastside Park in SIC 4A soccer.

Mary Kramer, Jessica Hendershot and Caroline Lytle scored goals for Mountain Home.

"We needed this one," said Coach Correa after the match. I did a little homework from the last game we played, and I changed a little bit of my lineup -- same players, just a different position that I decided to try, and it worked. They didn't know how to mark us out, and in the end, we were the better team, so it was a great win."

Jerome 1

Mountain Home traveled down to Jerome last Thursday for a non-conference girls soccer match, and came away on the short end of a 1-0 contest. Jerome scored their goal late in the second half. Mountain Home had opened the season against Jerome, beating them 4-0.

The Lady Tigers took a 5-7-1 overall record and 2-2-1 conference record into their final home match this past Monday against Vallivue. They play at Fruitland tomorrow (Thursday). Next week they close out their regular season schedule, at Caldwell on Oct. 13, and at Kuna on Oct. 15.
