Publisher's husband, John Swenson, dies

John Swenson, 49, husband of Mountain Home News Publisher Coleen Swenson, died of complications related to a liver disease early Tuesday morning.

Swenson had been awaiting a liver transplant in Salt Lake City when he died from complications associated with the disease he acquired in childhood.

Swenson was born on Travis AFB in California, but he lived most of his life in Mountain Home.

In recent years he had worked as an auto salesman for local dealerships until his illness forced his retirement about a year ago.

Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday evening at Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, followed by graveside services. A reception will follow at Good Counsel Hall.

He is is survived by his wife of 27 years, Coleen, and his daughter Stacy, 21, his mother, Joyce Swenson, and his sister, Martha Hazelbaker.
