Edward J. Garland, 60, formerly of Mountain Home, died of natural causes at his home in Siguin, Texas, Thursday, March 6, 2003.
Rosary and Vigil Services were held in Sequin, Texas, on Tuesday evening, March 11. Burial services were held March 12, at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
He joined the military in 1960 and retired from the USAF in Mountain Home in 1981.
He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, and a member of the 3rd and 4thDegree Knights of Columbus. He lived here from October 1977 until 1995.
He is survived by: his three children, Brian Garland of Boise, Michelle Meyers of Grand View, and Danial Garland of MountainHome; his former wife, Verline Daire of Mountain Home; six grandchildren, ; two brothers, Ken Garland of Bakers Field, Calif., and Gerald Garland of St. Paul Minn.; two sisters, Elaine Swiers of BeJou, Minn., and Iris Hovelson of Canyon Lake, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Sr., and Magdaline Garland of Mahnomen, Minn., one brother, Donald Garland of Becker, Minn., and one granddaughter, Heather M. Durrant-Meyers of Grand View.
