As 2018 comes to a close it is that time of the year when the Mountain Home News takes the time to reflect on the happenings of our coverage area. It has been a year of high and lows as we experienced losses, argued about developments in the City of Mountain Home and in Elmore County and celebrated the achievements of individuals and youths in our community...

On December 20th, Elmore County Sheriff’s Detectives completed their investigation and received a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Ricky Eugene Weaver on a single count of Solicitation for Murder. At approximately 8:00 PM, December 20th, the Elmore County Detectives along with the Elmore County Special Response Team (SRT) arrested Mr. Weaver at his residence in Mountain Home when they executed a No-Knock search warrant...

On December 18 the Mountain Home School Board met to wrap up the 2018 school year. During each meeting the school board encouraged students, teachers and administrators to recognize different activities, events, celebrations, achievements and awards that have occurred to be presented...

Mary C. Hylton, age 75, of Melba, formerly of Mtn Home, passed away at St. Lukes Hospital in Boise, on December 20, 2018.
