A pilgrimage to holy sites in Italy became a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a group of local parishioners who also got a chance to see Pope Francis in person. Fifteen members from Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church joined Father Victor Jagerstatter and another priest from Coeur d'Alene on a nine-day trip to Italy that included visits to Rome, Venice and Florence...

Local singers take the stage to perform "You're A Grand Old Flag" during the community's Broadway Musical Salute to Veterans on Nov. 10. A lead-in to this year's Veterans Day holiday, the evening featured a wide assortment of music representing different styles of music in the days following World War I.

On Nov. 18, 2015, Charles Lawrence Gertsch joined his sweetheart, Jean, just in time to celebrate their anniversary and her birthday. Funeral services will be held at noon on Nov. 21, 2015, at the Glenns Ferry Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will follow at Glenn Rest Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.
