One... two... three.. The solemn chime from the bell broke the calm as the wind howled across the cemetery, causing the dozens of flags to flap in the air. Four... five... six... With the sun hidden by the veil of clouds, it caused a noticeable chill in the morning air, but it didn't seem to phase the hundreds of people who stood in silence as the tradition continued...

Dear editor: I would like to know why the leash law in the city is not enforced? I cannot take my big dog for a walk (on her leash) without being charged by dogs running loose. Even most of those dogs have their owners with them, who do nothing about this...

U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Dakota Meyer was recently awarded the Medal of Honor for his courageous actions in Afghanistan, which included enduring enemy fire to rescue fellow soldiers. When asked whether he realized his actions were extraordinary, Sgt. Meyer said, "No, I don't. It would have been extraordinary if I'd brought them (all) out alive. A Meridian woman remains in custody following a high-speed chase on the interstate that ended north of Glenns Ferry on Nov. 15. According to a report from the Elmore County Sheriffs Department, the pursuit started around 2:45 p.m. after Noelle M. Allen was reported traveling east in the westbound lane near milepost 74.
