My heart breaks for the families who have found themselves in the crossfire of a world gone mad. We have witnessed terrible events these past few months. Families who have been shattered as individuals with murderous hearts have killed their loved ones without mercy and with complete brutality.
There are no words to describe the jagged cuts that have been inflicted upon our nation. The salt poured out on our wounds have kept us from healing as we are bombarded daily with useless talk and fingerpointing.
The time has come for us as a nation to recognize that we have been given the smallest and the most useless band-aid in the box in which to bind up our wounds.
A worthless little band-aid that belies the promise of protecting our cuts from the filth of the world.
We live in the greatest nation on earth and yet we continue to be grateful to the dispensers of the first aid box who offer nothing to stem the bleeding.
Proper attention must be paid to the real cause of our wounds and not the objects that tear our flesh and bruise our hearts. The nature of our tragedies cannot be fixed by slamming the first aid box shut or accepting that we only deserve the smallest and the most useless band-aid ever manufactured.
Is it too late for us to listen to to voice of reason? To step beyond ourselves and address the real issues and dangers that we now face as American People?
Maybe, but I don't think so. I believe we can still call upon the Real Spirit of our Nation and rally behind each other as Americans for a common cause.
To pray mighty prayers and humble ourselves before the One who makes All Lives Matter. Can we not strive to be a humble nation of determined individuals who exemplify the integrity, grit and courage and honor of our forefathers?
Are we prepared as as nation to hold ourselves accountable? Can we cease the endless noise of "Me First" and simply say, "Accountability begins with me".
The smallest Band-Aid in the First-Aid box has been exposed for what it truly is. A useless promise of healing properties that will only stem the bleeding for the briefest of seconds.
It will not be a political party; a learned scholar, or a talking head putting America back on the track to greatness. But those of us who are willing to comfort the broken and bind their wounds.
May we hear the same call that our forefathers heard as they established this great nation. This is our nation and our children and grandchildren's future at stake.
God Bless you all and May God Bless America.
