Talkin' Tigers need your help!Posted Friday, March 19, 2010, at 11:57 AM
As many have heard, the Talkin' Tigers speech and debate team qualified nine students for the national tournament June 13-18 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Getting to the tournament and staying for a week has put a pretty hefty burden on all of the students and chaperones, and as plane ticket prices go up, we cringe a little more at the price we'll have to pay. I know financial times are hard, but we have to ask the community for their help. Last year, transportation, lodging, and tournament fees were fully covered thanks to the tremendous support of the community. The following fundraisers will be taking place in the next two months or so: Spaghetti Feed (tickets will be five dollars a person for all you can eat spaghetti. Entertainment will be provided.) Yard Sale (in the senior parking lot of the high school, some saturday in May probably) Silent Auction (as soon as we have got together the baskets and other items. We ask that anyone interested donate items to be auctioned off) Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated. It IS a tax write-off for education. Thank you, Mountain Home, for the support you gave us last year. Nationals was amazing, and may not have been possible if it weren't for the community's support. And thank you in advance to those who will help us this year! Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

An open letter to the Talkin' Tigers

Well, Melodie, I don't have any money to donate, but I do have a camera and would be happy to maybe come and take pics of each of the Talkin' Tigers to maybe let them use for making of a Calendar, or poster of some kind?
Jessie
I'll speak to Mr. Petti and the others and see how they'd like that.
Thank you very much =)
Hey Ms. Miller, are you still interested in doing the calendar? Mr. Petti likes the idea.
